Hip-hop meets NBA in NBA2k23, as J. Cole and Jack Harlow are now playable characters in the video game.

Gamers can select the rappers in MyTEAM mode’s Crossover Series, where they were both given an overall rating of 89. For context, characters in the 2k series each have different attributes (basketball skills or traits) that are quantified with a numeric value. The overall number/ratings determine how well a player performs on the virtual court; the highest rating assigned to a player is 99.

In addition to the temporary update, NBA2k teased that gamers will be able to earn celebrity playing cards when they complete certain challenges in the game; that feature will be available for a limited time only.

While Harlow has had experience participating in the NBA All-Star celebrity basketball game, it’s J. Cole who’s no stranger to the video game franchise. In September, he became the first rapper to grace the cover of NBA 2K23‘s Dreamer Edition. He also made a cameo in 2k23‘s MyCAREER mode, where he showed off his rapping skills.
