Monty Brinton/CBSJohn Legend and Cynthia Erivo‘s enthralling cover of The Beach Boys‘ 1966 classic, “God Only Knows,” is now available to purchase and listen to on YouTube.
Both artists performed the cover song for the In Memoriam montage during Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. The tribute honored artists and industry professionals in the music community, including Prince and George Michael, who passed away in 2016.
During the ceremony, Cynthia won a Grammy in the Best Musical Theater Album category for her role as Celie in the Broadway production of The Color Purple. She shares the trophy with her co-stars Danielle Brooks and Jennifer Hudson, along with the show’s producers.
John is scheduled to perform two songs from the award-winning film La La Land, in which he also stars as a musician, during this month’s Oscars.
