ABC/Randy HolmesAfter winning the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Glory,” from the movie Selma, Common and John Legend have enjoyed a sales surge.
According to Billboard, the duo’s powerful anthem for the historical drama about Martin Luther King Jr. sold 28,000 downloads following Sunday’s ceremony, an 82-percent increase, giving the song it’s best sales week ever. Over on the Rap Digital Songs chart, the track climbs from #24 to #9 and it also opened at #46 on the overall all-genre Digital Songs chart.
Elsewhere, Jennifer Hudson‘s “I Can’t Let Go,” which she showcased during the Oscars’ In Memoriam segment, sold just under 2,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music.
