LaTavia Roberson Claims She Was Played by People Magazine

by

Paras Griffin/Getty ImagesFollowing a recent interview with People magazine, LaTavia Roberson now claims that she was “played,” because the publication “chose to report” on her history with her ex-group, Destiny’s Child, rather than on a slew of other topics.

“And they were given plenty. They chose what to exclude…I talked about losing my CHILD,” she tweeted, referring to the miscarriage she suffered earlier this year.  “New projects. Movie. My daughter, Lyric. I gave @people PLENTY.”

“And that HEADLINE is a joke. I NEVER told @people that I was depressed because of the group. Don’t TWIST my words. It goes beyond the girls,” she added.

Yesterday, the magazine published a feature on its website, in which Roberson stated that she was dismissed from Destiny’s Child, and that led her “into a depression.”

Roberson did write another tweet thanking People for the interview, but it links to a now-deleted Instagram message.

The artist is planning to release her forthcoming memoir, I Am LaTavia, next year.
