Francis Specker/CBSLizzo received rave reviews for her Grammy opening performance of her hits “Cuz I Love You” and “Truth Hurts.” It’s a moment she remembers she envisioned since she was a teenager.
“It all started with 4 words scribbled in my high school notebook: LIZZOs FANTASTIC TRAP ORCHESTRA. And the rest is history!,” the 31-year-old entertainer commented on Instagram. “All I needed was the team to bring my dreams to life. I am nothing without you, my family.”
Before the show, Lizzo was obviously feeling “Good as Hell” on the red carpet in her white Versace gown and matching faux-fur stole. She posted the photo with the comment, “If I felt how I looked, everyday would be a beautiful b****.”
After leading all artists with eight nominations, Lizzo won three awards: Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts,” Best Traditional R&B Performance, for “Jerome,” and Best Urban Contemporary Album, for Cuz I Love You.
The Hustlers star will be one of the headliners of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival on June 13 in Manchester, TN. She’ll also headline the Osheaga Festival in Montreal, Canada on August 1.
