As previously reported, during a recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, Crews claimed that Shawn Wayans, the film’s co-creator and star, informed him a follow up to the film had gotten the green light.

“You know what? I actually got with Shawn [Wayans], and he was like ‘Man, we doing it, we getting it going,'” Crews told Andy.

However, Marlon is claiming otherwise. The multi-talent took to Instagram on Wednesday in attempt to set the record straight.

“My face when @terrycrews tells the world #whitechicks2 is happening but we still don’t have a deal in place,” the comedian captioned a cringeworthy photo of his character from the movie.

He continued, “Now every fan [world wide] dms excitedly “IS THIS TRUE”?! Um… NO! Not yet.”

Last month, however, Marlon did express his eagerness to produce a follow up to the film.

“This movie warrants a sequel. The fans deserve it. This will always be my favorite movie,” he wrote in a celebratory Instagram post highlighting White Chicks‘s 15th anniversary.

In the film, which starred Shawn and Marlon Wayans as undercover FBI agents posing as women, Crews played the ultra-buff basketball star Latrell Spencer, who fell deeply in love with Marlon’s alter-ego, Tiffany.

Despite sub-par reviews, White Chicks ended up doing well, earning $113 million at the worldwide box office.
