Michael Jackson Estate Doesn’t Know Where His Gone with the Wind Oscar Went

by

Phil Walter/Getty ImagesHas anyone seen Michael Jackson‘s Oscar? His estate would like it back.

The King of Pop himself never won an Academy Award, but he did acquire the 1940 Oscar for best picture, presented to Gone with the Wind, for $1.54 million at a 1999 auction.

The executors of his estate couldn’t find the statuette while taking inventory of his possessions following his death in 2009.  They’re interested in it, though.

“The estate does not know where the Gone with the Wind statuette is,” Jackson attorney Howard Weitzman tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We would like to have that Oscar because it belongs to Michael’s children. I’m hopeful it will turn up at some point.”

The 88th annual Academy Awards ceremony airs on ABC this Sunday night.
