Ne-Yo: Beyonce Deserves Album of the Year Grammy

by

Eric McCandless/CBSMusic fans are buzzing over who will win big at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, especially among  the leading nominees, Sam Smith, Pharrell Williams and Beyonce, who each have six nods.

Ne-Yo, a Grammy-winner himself and one of Beyonce’s collaborators — he co-wrote her #1 smash, “Irreplaceable” — thinks Queen Bey should win the coveted Album of the Year trophy.  He tells ABC News Radio, “No one can deny that that album — from the way that she released it to the multiple hits that [are] on it, to the fact that she did a video for each and every single song — nobody can deny that that was a moment, and I definitely feel like its Grammy-worthy, yeah.”

Of course, Bey is going up against some great talent in that category, including Sam Smith’s In the Lonely Hour and Pharrell’s G I R L. The diva is also competing with Chris Brown‘s X, Jhene Aiko‘s Sail Out, and Mali Music‘s debut effort, Mali Is, in the Best Urban Contemporary Album category.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards airs Sunday night on CBS.
