It has only been a few weeks since Ne-Yo married his pregnant fiance Crystal Renay during an ocean-side ceremony near Los Angeles, but if you’ve followed their love story then you’d know that the couple has endured many critiques — especially since Ne-Yo reportedly had his former fiance Moneytta Shaw get her tubes tied after having two of his children. After posting a full look at her wedding gown, Renay addressed those who considered they nuptials a shot gun wedding.
The reality star took to Instagram to offer an explanation on why she didn’t wait, addressing her unborn child in the caption. “People said I was crazy to continue planning a wedding when I found out 6 months into it that I was carrying you but I told your father a year before we made you that my perfect wedding day would be to have my blessing in my belly as I married the man of my dreams,” she wrote. “And ‘Sweet baby Jesus’ The Lord heard my heart and gave me just that!”
She adds that all the drama was worth it. “Through the turmoil and daily stress of it all I had one thing keeping me together when I thought I would crack and that was you my prince,” she wrote. “I love you so very much and am going to spend my life making sure you never doubt that love. My prince, my junior, my heartbeat I am forever yours and forever will I be your mommy.”
The reality star is expecting her first child, a son, with the singer in less than a week.
