Nick Cannon thinks the phrase co-parenting is a little redundant

by

ABC RadioIf there’s one word Nick Cannon is a bit wary of, it’s “co-parenting.”

The singer-actor, who helps raise his six-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Careyexplains to People, “It’s funny with they say ‘co-parenting’ — that phrase is a little redundant. You can’t co-parent, you have to parent, and that’s what we do well, because when it comes to our children, we’re selfless individuals — they’re first.”

Nick adds that he and Mimi continue to put their children first, regardless of their failed marriage.

“Whenever we can show that — even if we’re not together, [that] we love each other unconditionally — and become that fine example to our children, they’ll grow up to be good human beings, hopefully,” he says.

He also mentions the relationship Monroe and Moroccan have with Golden, Cannon’s baby son with his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Bell. Nick says that Monroe and Moroccan “love him.”

“Any chance they get an opportunity to play with him, they’re all over him,” says Nick.

“The holidays were fun watching him crawl and try to take his first steps and watching his siblings try to help him walk around. It was a lot of fun.”
