Pat Houston Opens Up for the First Time About Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Death

by

LifetimeThree months after Bobbi Kristina‘s death, Pat Houston is discussing the events that led to her niece’s hospitalization and untimely passing.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight , the sister-in-law of the late Whitney Houston reveals there were plans set in place for an intervention for Kristina, who was going to be sent to a rehab facility in California before she was found unconscious in the bathtub at her home in Atlanta, Georgia in January.

“When we really found out that Krissy was in trouble, we were really making plans to do something about it…but it came too late,” Pat says, adding that she wishes she could have told her niece: “You have to love yourself.  You have to call on people and not allow someone to divide you and then conquer you.”

Pat adds the family is still mourning Kristina’s mother, and even visited the hotel room where Whitney died in 2012. “When we went into the room it was just so peaceful and calm and the room was lit.  It was like it was candle lit.  It was just very, very calming,” Pat recalls.  “I went into the bathroom and I placed the flowers at the tub and I just sat there and just was thinking, ‘What happened? How did we get here?”

As for rumors of a memoir from Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, Pat encourages him to vent. “I don’t really judge when it comes to that, you know? It could be something that could be very healing for him,” Pat explains, “You really never know what a person is going through so if he feels that he wants to write, he’ll do it.  The only thing is you have to be very truthful.  If it’s good or bad you know, you have to own it.”
