Pharrell Williams, Janelle Monae, Kendrick Lamar Among Performers for NBA All-Star Weekend

Columbia RecordsThe NBA has announced a star-studded list of entertainers scheduled to appear during its All-Star Weekend in New Orleans later this month.

According to Billboard, Pharrell Williams will perform on game night during the player introductions. 

Janelle Monae will take stage for the NBA All-Star Game halftime show. Backed by Trombone Shorty and his band Orleans Avenue, the funky singer will perform alongside Earth, Wind & Fire; Gary Clark Jr.; and New Orleans music legend Dr. John in what’s being described as a “New Orleans-influenced collaboration.”

Clark Jr. will perform the U.S. national anthem while Serena Ryder will sing the Canadian national anthem before the game on which takes place Sunday, February 16 and will air live on TNT beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar is scheduled to perform on Saturday, February 15,  before the Sprite Slam Dunk contest.  Additional performers will be announced shortly for the highly anticipated event.
