Trae Patton/NBCPharrell Williams is known for being a trendsetter and with his Hu Adidas fashion line, the superstar tells Billboard, he is on a mission to promote the idea that being healthy can be fashionable.
“What can I do to make your life better for your mind body and soul? And I’m not talking granola and s**. I’m talking about cool. Cool is healthy,” Pharrell says.
“We don’t make anything for demographics as much as we make things for ambitions,” Williams adds.
“If you’ve got the ambition to just do better, this is for you. [Hu] is not gender specific. It’s not sexually orientated. It’s just for human beings with ambitions of better days.”
Williams’ creative partnership with Adidas affords the award-winning entertainer another opportunity to decide what’s hot or not. Still, his goal for Hu is simply to “galvanize.”
“There was an opportunity to use this moment — this agreement between Adidas and myself — to do something for other people while we made creative, interesting, cool technology that services the body,” says Pharrell.
“That’s what HU is. HU [stands for] Health Ultimatum. We’re ultimately trying to bring people together.”
Pharrell’s next iteration of his Hu collection, Hu Holiday, will arrive in stores on November 17.
