Warner Bros.The Purple Rain continues to pour. Prince’s 1984 rock musical will expand to more AMC theater locations on Friday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Purple Rain initially returned to the big screen last weekend following the music icon’s death. It was shown in 87 AMC locations across the U.S. Due to fan demand, it is now being expanded to a total of 212 AMC theaters.
AMC insiders tell The Hollywood Reporter the movie had the highest percentage of sold-out shows of any title playing in those 87 cinemas last weekend.
