Legendary producer Quincy Jones reveals a number of interesting tidbits about his life in a recent interview with GQ magazine. For instance, the 84-year-old music icon says that he has not one, not two, but twenty-two girlfriends in various parts of the world, ranging in age from 28 to 42.

“Cape Town. Cairo. Stockholm — she’s coming in next week. Brazil — Belo Horizonte, Sao Paulo and Rio. Shanghai — got a great girl over there from Shanghai, man,” he says. “Cairo, whew…Yeah, I don’t lie.”

As for what having that many girlfriends feels like, the producer-musician explains, “It’s amazing — women get it, man. Don’t you ever forget they’re 13 years smarter than we are.”

The award-winning producer also talks about the first time he saw a dead body, when he was, he says, “seven or eight years old.”

“F****** South Side of Chicago, they don’t play, man,” notes Q. “Harlem and Compton don’t mean s*** after Chicago in the ’30s — they look like Boys Town to me. Chicago is tough. There’s something in the water, man.”

Two other parts of the world Quincy also has strong feelings about are Ireland and Scotland, which he claims are “so racist it’s frightening.”

Q also addresses the criticism he’s received about his relationships with Peggy Lipton, Ulla Jones and Jeri Caldwell, all of whom are white.

“I don’t give a f***,” he says simply, adding that his daughter with Lipton, actress Rashida Jones, “kicked” Tupac Shakur‘s “a**” after a 1993 interview in which the late rapper called Quincy “disgusting” for being intimate with white women.

Surprisingly, Quincy adds that he “became good friends” with Tupac after the incident and that Tupac ended up apologizing.
