In addition to performing during Soul Train Weekend 2015, R. Kelly has been added to the list of performers at this year’s Soul Train Awards, taking place at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas Friday, November 6.
The singer will be joined by classic group Cameo for the upcoming ceremony, according to Yahoo Music. “We did the very first Soul Train Awards, very, very first. Don Cornelius asked us to do it,” said Cameo lead singer Larry Blackmon. “It was fun and we haven’t done it since.”
The network previously announced that Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds will receive the Legend Award, while Jill Scott will accept the first-ever Lady of Soul Award at the ceremony, which sees The Weeknd and Mark Ronson leading all nominees with five nods each.
Hosted by Erykah Badu, the Soul Train Awards 2015 will be recorded for broadcast on November 29 at 8 p.m. on BET and Centric.
