Rihanna is being accused improperly re-purposing an image from jewelry manufacturer Coronet Diamonds, for use on social media.
According to TMZ, the company claims it created the patriotic image — of a diamond necklace framed by a stars-and-stripes spangled “V”– and posted it on its website November 11, Veteran’s Day. Now, the jeweler says, without authorization, the singer superimposed a picture of herself on the image and removed the company’s logo before sharing it on her Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Coronet has sent Rihanna a cease-and-desist letter, the website reports. They are seeking an apology on Rihanna’s social media platforms.
