by

Jay GunningRihanna wants young girls and boys around the world to receive an exemplary education — and so the singer is putting herself out in front of the effort to make that happen as the new Global Ambassador for the Global Partnership for Education.

Rih Rih’s Clara Lionel Foundation will partner with the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen to help children find success in the classroom and beyond school doors.

As the GPE Global Ambassador, Rihanna will have the ability to encourage policymakers and world leaders responsible for overseeing global education for today’s youth and future generations.

“I feel strongly that all children everywhere should be afforded the opportunity of a quality education. Therefore I’m proud to announce Clara Lionel Foundation’s partnership with education advocacy leaders like the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen. Working together, I know we can amplify our efforts and ensure that millions of children gain access to education globally,” she said.

Rihanna is set to appear during Saturday’s Global Citizen festival in New York City.

The Clara Lionel Foundation was created in 2012 by the artist to support and develop world-class educational programs in her home country of Barbados and other countries.
