Rihanna shines on the cover of the April issue of Vogue, in which she speaks on a wide range of topics, including her collaboration with Puma and her New York Fashion show. But Rihanna also made sure to share her thoughts on being pitted against Beyoncé.

“They just get so excited to feast on something that’s negative,” says Rihanna. “Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to.”

If you recall, the comparisons began anew after Beyonce released her “Formation” video almost a week after Ri’s long-awaited album, ANTI. An un-bothered Rihanna adds, “I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”

Rihanna also insisted she’s single, even though many assume she’s dating her former flame and collaborator, Drake.   “It’s definitely going to be a challenge when I do decide to pursue a relationship… but I have hope!” she says.

The singer also offered insight into why she went against her pop formula on ANTI. “I just gravitated toward the songs that were honest to where I’m at right now,” she says. “It might not be some automatic record that will be Top 40. But I felt like I earned the right to do that now.”
