Jerod Harris/Getty ImagesAs he prepares to perform during tonight’s American Idol finale, Ruben Studdard is dropping the first single from his upcoming album.
The season-two winner is releasing “Can’t Nobody Love You” Friday on iTunes. The mid-tempo track is from Ruben’s upcoming seventh album, When Loves Call Me, which will be available October 28. It’s the follow-up to his previous CD, 2014’s Unconditional Love. Studdard co-wrote the song and recorded it in his home studio in Alabama.
As previously reported, “The Velvet Teddy Bear” will share the stage during the finale with previous American Idol contestants, including Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks, Candice Glover, and Kimberley Locke.
The two-hour finale of American Idol airs live Thursday night at 8 p.m. on FOX.
