In 2017, we witnessed Sanaa Lathan cut off her head full of hair in which we later found out was to fulfill the characteristics of a lead movie role. Nappily Ever After will premiere on Netflix on September 21, 2018.
Based on the novel of the same name, Nappily Ever After is a romantic comedy that displays the life of Venus Johnson, played by Lathan, who realizes she isn’t living life to the fullest. She then breaks up with her long time boyfriend because she grows tired of waiting on him to propose. After a hair appointment goes wrong, Lathan is left with a bald mane and a life changing epiphany that motivates her to pursue genuine happiness compared to the false sense of joy she’s been maintaining all of these years.
