Jerritt Clark/Getty ImagesShemar Moore shares an emotional post about his mother’s recent passing. The SWAT actor had to refrain from crying before revealing to his 3.2 million followers that his mother Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore passed away on February 8th, 2020.
In a series of loving videos on Instagram, Moore describes his relationship with his mother and how her passing has affected him over the last 10 days. He calls her “my best friend, my partner in crime, my ace boon coon, my Bonnie to my Clyde.”
His mother was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 1999, although Moore was in denial about it for a few years.
Moore held up a portrait photo of himself as a child standing in front of his mother in one video. He said his mother thought he was going to be a girl, so he jokingly put on lipstick. “I was the little girl that she never had. That’s why in this picture, I’m putting lipstick on,” he said. “Because she thought she was going to have a little girl. My name is Shemar Frankin Moore. But, my name was supposed to be Mayana Lisa Moore. So, I was joking around and put some lipstick on.”
The Criminal Minds actor credited his mother for all of his current and future success and thanked his fans for always supporting him and his mother. For now, Shemar Moore says he’s going to figure out the next chapter of his life without “the greatest woman I’ve ever known.”
“I don’t know life without this woman, I don’t know what to do but I will figure it out because that’s what she would want.
