by

Miranda McdonaldThe first date on Solange‘s “Orion’s Rise” six-date tour series began Sunday night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, with the Grammy winner’s “Cosmic Journey” performance.

Monday, Solange singer posted several Instagram messages about the event, writing in one caption, “still gleaming, and just happy as f****** pie, and thankful…,” and thanking “all my friends who made this night so special…”

Other photos taken from the magical evening show Solange performing on a stage lighted red and blue, among backup dancers, musicians, and special guest vocalists like Blood Orange and Kelela.

On the day of the show, Solange also wrote a heartfelt Instagram note reflecting on how nervous she was to even release A Seat at the Table.

She writes, “exactly a year ago, I turned in a seat at the table with knots in my stomach. if you would have told me then, I’d [be] playing it live and sell out hollywood bowl, radio city, greek theatre and kennedy center, i wouldn’t have even been able to wrap my head around it.”

Solange’s next stop on her “Orion’s Rise” tour will be at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts Thursday.
