Solange Says Heart Is Full as Moons Following Smithsonian Peace Ball Performance

Carlota GuerreroSolange enthralled audiences with a performance at the Busboys and Poets’ Peace Ball at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture Thursday.

Introduced by political activist Angela Davis, the Seat at the Table singer was more than grateful to perform at the event, as she stated via Instagram

“What an honor to have performed at the Smithsonian African American Museum for the Busboys and Poets’ Peace Ball. My heart is still full as moons. And thank you to the inimitable teacher…the astounding Angela Davis for introducing me last night. Your words will stay with me forever,” she wrote.

Grammy award-winning jazz artist Esperanza Spalding also performed at the gathering, which was created to “celebrate the accomplishments and successes of the past 4 years and vow to continue to be the change we want to see in the world.”
