Steve Harvey set to revive his daytime talk show on Facebook Watch

by

ABC/Lisa RoseSteve Harvey has apparently decided to take a page from Jada Pinkett Smith‘s handbook. After the cancellation of his Emmy-winning daytime show, Harvey is taking his talents to Facebook Watch.

Variety has learned Harvey will revive his daytime talk show, titled Steve on Watch, on the streaming site,  premiering January 6.

Harvey first hinted that he was working on a new project back in October when he visited Tyler Perry Studios  and said he had a “special project” in the works.

According to Variety, Harvey has already taped multiple episodes of his new show, which he shot at Tyler Perry Studio between December 3 and December 6. The first batch of episodes will run for 10 weeks, with multiple segments a week.

The revamped series will have Harvey offer his signature commentary on everyday life and “issues affecting his audience.” It will also include exclusive interviews with performers, musicians and viral stars, among other talent.

“Reaching my audience anywhere and everywhere they are has always been the goal,” said Harvey in a statement. “Facebook Watch viewers are the most energetic, engaged community, and so are my amazing fans. Getting all those people to directly engage on a platform like this is the perfect evolution of the show.”

This is the latest project for Harvey, who already hosts his syndicated game shows Family Feud and Celebrity Family Feud for ABC.
