Tamar Braxton defends Vincent Herbert from allegations by ex-Dream singer

by

ABC/Lorenzo BevilaquaTamar Braxton spent the last days of 2017 defending her estranged husband, Vincent Herbert, from allegations by former Dream member Melissa Schuman.

Over the holiday weekend, Melissa tweeted that the producer “is the reason I suffer PTSD when I’m in the recording studio,” among other claims.

She writes, “He verbally and emotionally abused me when I was 14 while recording Dream’s first record. Isolated us from each other and forced me us loose [sic] weight.”

Melissa’s tweet linked to a TMZ report report with the headline “Tamar Braxton Gets Husband Arrested for Spousal Assault, Calls Pregnant Woman a ‘Whore’ for Sleeping with Him,” apparently to indicate what kind of person she feels Herbert is.

As a response to a fan who was shocked by Melissa’s claim, she then continued in another Twitter post, “Yep. We had to weigh in in front of him. He had me loose [sic] 20 lbs. I went from 121 to 101 lbs.”

But Tamar responded to Melissa with a string of Twitter replies, accusing her of trying to piggyback on her own situation with Herbert.

“Don’t EVEN TRY to use out [sic] personal Family situation for attention!! All the greats had to do it, GAGA, Toni, myself ALL had what was,” Tamar wrote, apparently insinuating that all female singers have been forced to lose weight.

In additional tweets, Tamar added, “Don’t try me Becky cause right now you are doing the MOST! He’s not a woman beater, abuser or a BAD man! He just made Bad choices like we ALL do… to ME NOT YOU!!”

Melissa was a member of pop girl group Dream, best known for their hit debut single, “He Loves U Not,” in 2000.

They were signed to Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ Bad Boy Records label.

Last year, Melissa accused Backstreet Boy Nick Carter of sexually assaulting her, which he denied.

Tamar filed for divorce from Vince last year, after months of speculation that their eight-year marriage was on the rocks.

Tamar’s mother, Evelyn Braxton, claimed to several media outlets that Vince physically abused her daughter.
