Tyrese shares disappointment about not being in the new Transformers film

ABC/ Jeff NeiraTransformers: The Last Knight is out in theaters today — and noticeably absent from the fifth installment is Tyrese Gibson.

The actor, who played Robert Epps in the original 2007 film, along with its sequels Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon, says he’s disappointed he wasn’t able to be in the latest installment.

“Honestly guys I’m pretty bummed out – there is no bigger #fanboy of #Transformers than me!” Gibson wrote on his Instagram as a caption to a series of photos of him on the Transformers set. 

“I’m sorry to tell you I’ve been saying it for a while now I’m NOT in T5 and I’m actually bummed out about it trust me – director @MichaelBay went out of his way to bring back me and Josh to surprise the fans and I was PUMPED!!!!” he continued.  

“Then the reality kicked in we were shooting #F8 at the same time they were shooting #T5 and the schedule just got screwed..” #F8 is this year’s spring movie blockbuster, Fate of the Furious.

Gibson added, “I’m going to see the film but just wanted you guys to know I’m not in it…Love you guys always!!! GO see the movie!!!!!”

Last month, Tyrese revealed that a sequel to another of his films is in the works.  

“Sequel to Baby Boy coming soon…,” he captioned a clip of him watching a scene from film, which featured Taraji P. Henson. “#BabyBoyComingOfAge shout to @johnsingleton.”
