Arielle Bobb-WillisTo cap off 2020, Chloe x Halle delivered a stunning performance of their single, “Don’t Make It Harder on Me.”
The sibling singing duo serenaded audiences from the Honda Stage Wednesday while wrapped in skin-tight dark green latex.
“Don’t make it harder on me / I told you not to love me / And now you’re growing on me,” Chloe x Halle sang in perfect harmony. The ladies gracefully swayed their arms and hips with 60s-inspired choreography, channeling The Supremes.
“Don’t Make It Harder On Me” appears on Chloe x Halle’s 2020 album, Ungodly Hour. According to Halle, the duo’s ability to vulnerably tackle issues such as relationships, love and self-worth on their sophomore album is a true reflection of the album’s title.
“The reason why we called it Ungodly Hour is because in the ungodly hour, you feel everything so deeply,” Halle told Billboard. “Sometimes in the middle of the night, 3:00 to 4:00 a.m., you truly are self-reflecting and all of your true feelings come to surface. These were the feelings that we were picking from to write with.”
Featuring their previously-released singles “Do It“and “Forgive Me,” UnGodly Hour debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart after its June release and recently landed three Grammy nominations, including one for Best Progressive R&B album. That in part earned Chloe x Halle the Rising Star Award at Billboard‘s annual Women in Music Awards earlier this month.
