Everyone is still talking about Yolanda Adams and the amazing job that she did paying tribute to Anita Baker on the BET Awards!

Adams performed Baker’s classic “You Bring Me Joy” and brought the house down, Baker was visible touched and could hardly keep it together during the tribute,

The gospel music songbird was part of the tribute to Baker that also included Jamie Foxx, Ledisi, and Marsha Ambrosious.

Anita Baker was a staple in my household growing up, and she’s still a Saturday morning staple for me with her own playlist of every album in my Apple Music. But last night, I was reminded, as if I could ever forget, about the force that is @yolandaadams!!!!! It has been years since we’ve witnessed some good flawlessly flat footed singing with ALL THE RIGHT NOTES. I really hope our new generation of artists understand the power of training, practice, and skill.
