Kanye West publishing contract which has become part of a lawsuit states that he can not retire. The specific verbiage from the contract says that Kanye must, remain actively involved in writing, recording and producing compositions and major label albums as your principle occupation. The contract also states that he can not retire or take an extended hiatus. The no retirement part is expected to be a big issue in the case. Kanye’s team is using a California Labor Code in their lawsuit that states that personal contracts are limited to no more than 7 calendar years in length. Obviously he didn’t read the terms on the recording contract.
