Breaking News: NBA Legend Patrick Ewing Tests Positive For COVID-19

by

New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing has tested positive for COVID-19. The 57-year-old All-Star, who now coaches basketball at Georgetown University, made the announcement late Friday in a statement released by the school. “I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19,” Ewing’s statement reads. “The virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.” A Georgetown rep says Ewing, who’s been placed in isolation at a local hospital, is the only member of the school’s basketball program who’s tested positive. Despite the dangers associated with the virus, Ewing is assuring fans he’ll be OK. “I’ll be fine and we will all get through this,” he says. How can Ewing contract the virus while the rest of the coaches and players test negative?
