It happened at a Christian school in Northern Virginia; a 12-year black girl was reportedly held down by 3 sixth-grade classmates who bullied her and cut her locks.
Amari Allen told several media outlets that during recess, she was on her way down a slide at Immanuel Christian School in Springfield last Monday when one of the boys grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth, while a second boy grabbed her arms and the 3rd cut off some of her hair.
“They said my hair was nappy and I was ugly,” the girl told the station.
It took 2 days before Amari said anything to anyone. On Wednesday when her grandmother was doing her hair, she noticed that her hair was uneven and some locks were missing. That’s when Amari broke down crying. She also said the same boys have been bullying her since the beginning of the school year.
#AmariAllen was assaulted by 3 white boys where @KarenPence works.
"All three were on me. One…put my hands behind my back, one…covered my mouth. They were laughing & calling me names…'ugly,' 'I shouldn't have been born'…they took chunks of my hair & just cut it."#BLM pic.twitter.com/xKDR4p3db6

The school is where Vice President Mike Pence’s wife teaches.
The incident has sparked calls for passage of The Crown Act in Virginia … already passed in California and New York, the act bans discrimination against black people for their natural hairstyles.
