BET renews its BET+ series ‘First Wives Club’ for a second season

BETThe BET+ series First Wives Club will be back for another season.

Sources confirm to Deadline that the scripted comedy, starring Ryan Michelle BatheJill Scott and Michelle Buteau, has been renewed for season 2.

As previously noted, the series, which was developed by Girls Trip co-writer Tracy Oliver, is an African-American remake of the 1966 revenge comedy starring Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton. Based in New York City, the BET+ comedy follows Bathe, Scott and Buteau who “band together” after their marriages fall apart.

First Wives Club also stars RonReaco LeeMalik Yoba and Mark Tallman and originally launched on September 19 as part of BET+’s platform rollout.
