KUDOS to the LeBron James Family Foundation for spear-heading such a beautiful tribute to the #Classof2020, their parents, teachers and more. ‘Graduate Together: High School Class of 2020‘ was awesome and all of the speakers, including former President Barack Obama and Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai; and musical tributes were inspiring and amazing.
Malala gained world-wide notoriety by speaking out on behalf of the right to learn for young girls in her country. By doing so she became a target by those against her movement. In 2012, she was near fatally shot in the head at the age of 14 as she walked home from school by a masked gunman.
She says on her website, “I woke up 10 days later in a hospital in Birmingham, England. The doctors and nurses told me about the attack — and that people around the world were praying for my recovery.” She made comments during the special honoring other 2020 graduates like herself.
