Courtesy of Flyte Tyme ProductionsHot on the heels of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis‘ recent induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame comes another honor for the famed songwriting-production duo.
The performers’ rights organization ASCAP will present Jimmy and Terry with its Voice of Music Award at the 30th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards on June 22 in Los Angeles.
The five-time Grammy winning pair are best known for crafting countless hits, among them Mariah Carey‘s “Thank God I Found You,” Usher‘s “U Remind Me” and Boyz II Men‘s “On Bended Knee.”
They also co-wrote and co-produced Janet Jackson’s albums Control and Rhythm Nation 1814.
They’ve also earned eight ASCAP Songwriter of the Year awards and 16 #1 pop hits. No other songwriting and production team have racked up that many #1s.
The late Notorious B.I.G. will also be honored with the ASCAP Founders Award at the same event.
