British Railway Worker Dies of COVID-19 after Infected Passenger Spits on Her

by

A British railroad worker who was spat on by an infected passenger has died of COVID-19, the worker’s union announced Tuesday. Belly Mujinga, 47, was working for the Govia Thameslink Railway in Victoria Station on March 22nd when she and another employee were approached by a disgruntled customer who claimed to have been infected by the coronavirus, according to the Transport Salaried Staffs Association. He then coughed and spat on both women before taking off. Although both women tested positive for COVID-19, Mujinga caught the worse of it due to underlying respiratory issues, her husband says. She died exactly two weeks after the attack. “She is one of far too many frontline workers who have lost their lives to coronavirus,” TSSA secretary Manuel Cortes says.

Should the spitter be tracked down and charged with murder?
