Did you know Megan Thee Stallion auditioned for ‘Love & Hip Hop’?

by

Huxley WorldFor up-and-coming artists, making it on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop could be the start of massively successful career. Just ask multi-Grammy-winning rapper and former alum, Cardi B

But according to an auditon tape released as part of VH1’s #LHHUnlocked series, Cardi’s “WAP” partner, Megan Thee Stallion, also auditioned for the show.

In the video, Megan manifested her “popping” music career years before her Tina Snow project in 2018.

“It’s Megan Thee Stallion, aka Young Tina Snow, aka the H-Town Hottie. I’m from Houston Texas, and I’m just the best female rapper that’s popping off right now,” says Megan. “And on top of that, I’m a full-time college student, okay.”

In the clip, the “Savage” rapper mentions her mother, rapper Holly Thomas, who died from brain cancer in March 2019. The multi-Grammy-nominated rapper often credited her mother as her biggest inspiration, despite being unsure about her daughter pursuing rap as a career.

“Megan Thee Stallion is just gonna become that household name,” she predicted. “When you’re talking about those popping rappers, I’m going to be in that conversation.”

LHH:Miami cast mate and rapper Sukihana — who made a cameo in the “WAP” video — appeared shocked after seeing clip, saying, “That is everything. Y’all fumbled the bag. Y’all should have put her on the show.”

“That is manifestation at its finest,” added longtime alum Erica Mena

Fans on social media believe Megan’s audition tape was for the Houston leg of the show, which was cancelled in 2016. The tape was released as part of VH1’s special Love & Hip Hop: Secrets Unlocked, where cast members virtually reflect on never-before-seen footage, including casting tapes and some of the show’s most unforgettable moments.
