Drake set the streaming world on fire when he released his sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy, on Friday.  He also broke several records he set just a few years ago.

Apple Music confirmed to ABC News that Drake broke their 2021 record for the most-streamed album in a single day.  In addition, the number of listens CLB clocked in its first 24 hours of release was also a record — actually, the “One Dance” singer accomplished the feat in just under 12 hours.  Steaming numbers were still being tallied as of Monday night.

Drizzy unseated himself as the previous record holder: His 2018 effort, Scorpion, garnered 170 million streams in its first 24 hours on Apple Music.

Spotify also confirmed that the album made history by becoming the service’s most-streamed album in a single day, becoming a certified record-breaker.

Streaming aside, Drake also managed to unseat himself as the previous record-holder for biggest debut album on Apple Music, with CLB topping the chart in 145 countries on its day of release.

In addition, the album’s 21 tracks took over 51 Daily Top 100 charts and gobbled up the top 21 slots in 18 countries.  According to Apple Music, the top three songs were “Girls Want Girls (feat. Lil Baby),” “Champagne Poetry,” and “Fair Trade (feat. Travis Scott)” — all of which had the biggest song debuts ever on Apple Music, overtaking Drake’s previous record-earning effort, “Nonstop.”

Certified Lover Boy benefits from a bevy of big-name collaborations, including Jay-Z21 SavageLil DurkLil WayneRick RossYoung ThugKid Cudi and several others.

Drake describes Certified Lover Boy as “a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking.”
