EST Gee earns his first ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 entry with Lil Baby’s Real As It Gets

by

Sam LevitonLouisville rapper EST Gee earns his first-career entry on the Billboard Hot 100 song chart for assisting on Lil Baby‘s “Real As It Gets.”

The track was released earlier this month, placing at the #34 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and #15 on Rolling Stone‘s Top 100 songs last week.

As a Grammy-nominated rapper working toward legendary status, Lil Baby made a bold declaration, comparing Gee to one of Atlanta’s first trap legends. “EST Gee is the new Young Jeezy,” Baby tweeted Sunday.

After releasing tracks like “Through the City” and “El Toro,”  EST Gee secured a deal with Yo Gotti‘s Collective Music Group, following the December release of his debut album, I Still Don’t Feel Nun. The 16-track effort features Gotti, Kevin Gates, and CMG label mates MoneyBagg Yo and 42 Dugg, among others.

This month marks the one-year anniversary of Gee’s Ion Feel Nun project, boasting tracks like “Nathaniel Forest,” as well as appearances from Detroit rappers Payroll Giovani, Sada Baby and Icewear Vezzo.

EST Gee made his late-night television debut in January on Jimmy Kimmel Live! alongside fellow Louisiana MC Jack Harlow for a performance of their hometown anthem, “Route 66.” Gee also teamed up with buzzing Kentucky rapper $ackleader Won on “Turn Me Down.”
