Frank Ocean writes foreword for new book about ‘Moonlight’

by

While Frank Ocean fans continue to wait for the follow to his 2016 platinum album Blonde, the two-time Grammy is expressing himself in a literary way in a new book about the movie Moonlight.

Ocean wrote the foreword to a 224-page book about the 2017 Oscar winner for Best Picture, which includes the film’s screenplay and the acceptance speeches from the Academy Awards.

As you might recall, the year Moonlight won the Oscar, it was initially announced that La La Land was the Best Picture winner — a mistake that presenter Warren Beatty blamed on an envelope mix-up. La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz eventually came forward to announce Moonlight as the correct winner.

Director Barry Jenkins, who won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, announced the book, tweeting ”This is what we did. Moonlight 8 X 11 in. 224 pages. Foreward by Frank Ocean…Academy Awards Acceptance speeches.”  He also posted a GIF that allows a glimpse inside the book.

The book will go on sale September 30 on the A24 Films’ website.
