Hallelujah: Kirk Franklin honored with plaque to commemorate 10 million albums sold

by

Maury Phillips, Courtesy of Central City Productions/TV OneKirk Franklin has achieved a huge milestone.

The gospel star was recently presented with a plaque recognizing that he’s sold 10 million albums in his career at an event in Hollywood.

The multi-platinum artist recently debuted his latest hit single, “My World Needs You,” for the first time during the taping of this year’s 32nd annual Stellar Awards.

Kirk remains humble, even with all of his current and previous career successes.  He tells ABC Radio that he can’t explain his achievements, other than the fact that God is behind them all.

“It’s phenomenal for me to be able to see how long He’s blessed me to be able to do this and to be able to still be his pen and just one of his many pens, one of his many great pens,” says Kirk. “There’s a lot of great songwriters out there. I’m very humbled to be just a part of that category and community.”

You can catch Kirk’s performance and see if he wins big at the Stellar Awards on April 9 at 6 p.m. ET on TV One.
