Miguel recently wrapped up the European leg of his Wildheart tour, which made stops in Switzerland, Germany and major cities in the U.K.; he also toured Australia and New Zealand. Now, the singer is revealing his perspective on the outing,

“I don’t always want to be underrated, I don’t want to be underrated, I don’t want to be like, ‘Oh, that was a nice idea,'” he tells i-D magazine of his attitude about touring, adding that when approaching the stage he has a “no more f***** around” mentality.

The singer explains that he feels like a “conductor” when he’s on stage and details the special chemistry he feels while in front of a live audience.

“The shows I remember the most are the ones where I felt completely in control of the room — where they were all with me,” he tells the mag.  “I feel comfortable and I feel safe — it’s weird — being the conductor in that moment. I feel comfortable and safe knowing that the intention is pure, and wherever I’m taking them, I know it’s gonna be good.”

Next up on Miguel’s agenda is a string of shows in the U.S., including a November 18 show at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles. Next spring, fans can catch him at the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival with Kendrick Lamar, Fetty Wap, Future, Big Boi from Outkast, Skrillex and many more.
