Nick Cannon Walks in Solidarity with Fellow Protestors in New York City

by

ABC/Fred LeeTelevision host and rapper Nick Cannon is one of many celebrities taking a stand against police brutality and violence in America against black men and women.

Following the recent shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, Cannon joined protesters in the streets of New York City  Thursday.

Cannon posted several poignant pictures of himself wearing an “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt — a reference to the death two years ago of Eric Garner while being restrained by Staten Island, NY police.  Witnesses heard Garner repeatedly say “I can’t breathe” before he lost consciousness and died.

“Me and my Squad out here taking our streets back!! @hawk.newsome and my team shutting NY down for #altonsterling #philandocastile and all injustice #BlackLivesMatter Don’t just Hashtag it Be about it!,” he writes under one of the photos in which he’s seen carrying a megaphone.

“PEACE! PEACE! PEACE! A life is a life. No human has the right to take another human’s life! Peace in the message here! DON’T GET DISTRACTED…Hands up Don’t Shoot! “An Eye for an Eye leaves Everybody Blind. ~ Dr. Martin Luther King,” Cannon writes under another picture.
