Omari Hardwick seemingly says goodbye after ‘Power’s explosive midseason finale

by

StarzThe midseason finale of Power aired on Sunday night, leaving many fans questioning if Omari Hardwick‘s character, Ghost, had officially been killed off.

During the explosive episode “No One Can Stop Me,” Ghost does his best to burn every bridge as he tells his adversaries, “no on can stop me.” Not surprisingly, those adversaries –including his former best friend, Tommy, his son Tariq, and his ex-wife Tasha — are the main suspects in Ghost’s shooting in the final scene.

Although fans will have to wait until January to see if their beloved gangster has died, Hardwick seemingly confirmed his exit on Instagram, thanking his Starz family in a lengthy message.

“This rings true in every thing & every move we make in life…..or in fiction. Sometimes when the gift of which is given to the soul of a viewer or a listener is so definitive, lasting & powerful….the line between the 2 becomes blurred,” Omari writes, sharing photos from the episode.

“Thank you Starz, producers, writers, directors, crew, teamsters & my beloved cast for trusting each other enough to aid majorly in this line being blurred,” he continued. “That is when programming shifts the culture. My belief is we accomplished that. Thank you fans for entrusting me with the job of quarterbacking this team of bandits who scored in stealing your hearts week in/week out for 6 yrs.”

Not surprisingly, fans had plenty to say about Hardwick’s post in the comments.

“Stop thanking people,” wrote one fan. “Ghost is not dead.”

“SOOOOO ARE U DEAD, DEAD LIKE CASKET DEAD OR DEAD,LIKE 2PAC?” asked another. “MAYBE U ARE BUT REALLY NOT.”

“I’m done watching can’t go on without u,” declared another.

Power returns with its final five episodes Sunday, January 5 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
