The band, which consists of bassist Brown Mark, keyboardist/vocalist Lisa Coleman, keyboardist Dr. Fink, drummer Bobby Z and guitarist/vocalist Wendy Melvoin, will entertain fans who remember the group during it’s time touring with Prince in the ’80s. The Revolution was featured on many of Prince’s albums, including Purple Rain and Parade.

Special guests Dez Dickerson, who was Prince’s first guitarist in the late ’70s, and Prince’s childhood friend Andre Cymone also will appear for the special live event.

“Only by playing for you, the fans, can we be Prince’s Revolution. He gives Us 2 one another now, as we all heal and fill forever emptiness with sound. 2gether, we are The Revolution,” said the band about the show.

Fans can see The Revolution live tonight, Friday and Saturday at the Minneapolis venue First Avenue & 7th St Entry, the location for many of Purple Rain‘s scenes.
