The war of words between TLC and former manager Perri “Pebbles” Reid continues.
The members of TLC are firing back at Reid after she appeared on The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday to take exception to her portrayal in last month’s VH1 biopic of the group, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.
Reid told Williams that the movie was a “complete lie,” and accused Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of having an affair with her then-husband, L.A. Reid.
“No member of TLC ever slept with or had sexual contact with LA Reid as Perri falsely accused Chilli of on The Wendy Williams Show. In fact, Perri had falsely alleged the same thing happened with Tionne,” TheYBF.com quotes TLC as saying in a statement. Tionne of course is TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz” Wakins.
T-Boz also dened another of Pebbles’ claims — that T-Boz and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes wanted to oust Chilli from the group. “I would like to confirm that Perri Reid was the only person who ever suggested that Chilli leave TLC,” said T-Boz. “Neither Lisa nor I ever wanted or suggested that.”
Chilli also took aim at Pebbles, now a minister, on Twitter. “Yall need 2 watch what church y’all walk into cuz I’ll tell ya some of these so-called MINISTERS might get struck by lightning at any moment,” she tweeted.
As previously reported, Pebbles is considering a lawsuit against VH1 over her depiction in the movie. “The supposed true story is not true and VH1 will be hearing from me,” she said on The Wendy Williams Show.
