It Is Done Communications Snoop Dogg is adding more star power to his Redemption of a Dogg stage play.

In addition to Snoop and his previously announced co-star, Tamar Braxton, the play will feature Eric Benet, Demetria McKinney, actor Omar Gooding from the Bounce TV series Family Time, and comedian James “Lil JJ” Lewis.

Redemption of a Dogg, which kicks off a national tour October 5 in Houston, is written, directed and produced by Je’Caryous Johnson, who created the recent Set It Off musical starring LeToya Luckett, Da Brat, Demetria McKinney, and Kyla Pratt.

The play is based on Snoop’s life. According to a press release, it “examines the internal battle one man has between preserving his lifelong legacy and losing the love of his life when he is faced with choosing fame and fortune over faith and family.”

The production will feature Snoop’s greatest hits, as well as music from his recently released gospel album, Bible Of Love

This year, Snoop is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his 1993 debut album, Doggystyle.
