BilboardSummer Walker is now gearing up for her headlining The First and Last Tour, kicking off October 26 in San Antonio, Texas — even though she admits she has very bad stage fright.

“Performing gives me so much anxiety,” the 23-year-old singer tells Billboard. “I would be more at peace if I could just record music and slide it under the door.”

Summer is releasing her second album, Over It, on Friday, featuring Usher, Jhene Aiko, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR6lack, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

The album also includes her Drake-assisted remix of “Girls Need Love” which went platinum and hit number two on the Billboard R&B Songs chart.

According to Billboard, Drizzy heard the original track at a bowling alley and DM’ed Walker, letting her know he was a big fan.

“So,” Summer says recalling her response, “I asked him if he would get on it — and he did.”

Her 2018 debut album, Last Days of Summer, reached the top of ten of the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Album chart, peaking at number six.

The Atlanta vocalist says the success of “Girls Need Love” and her album made her realize how much her music was connecting with fans.

“I really see how we all really be going through some of the same s**t,” Summer explains. “Like, I didn’t know my music was so relatable until after the project dropped.”
