The-Dream Hints at Secret Project with Jay Z

Image Courtesy Island Def JamThe-Dream has the kind of access that most entertainers envy. After recently revealing that he recorded an unreleased Fela-inspired album with Beyonce, the hitmaker has spilled that he’s working on new material with her husband Jay Z.

While promoting his newly released Crown EP, the singer hints that new music is on the way with the rap mogul. “I cannot tell you,” he tells XXL magazine when asked about what they’re working on. He then coyly adds: “I mean, we definitely do music all the time, but one in particular thing I can’t say. We do that all the time.”

The singer adds that his working relationship with Jay has evolved.  “It’s not like how it was when we first met. When I first met them, him or [Beyonce], it was a different place. It’s great to come into this business, as many friends as I lost because of the changes, and how things happen when you go from one thing to another.”

He’s also grateful for the friends that he found in the Carters.  “Something that looks like a hobby to your old friends turns into a career for you and you have to change and adjust; it’s great when you can find new friends,” he says. “If you don’t, you’ll go insane. So I’m just lucky to have friends over there like that.”

The entertainers have a history of working together, including on Jay’s “Holy Grail,” which The-Dream helped co-write, as well as on “High Art,” a song from Dream’s album, IV Play.
