DisneyShe released the song itself July 10.  Now Beyoncé‘s released a new music video for “Spirit,” from the soundtrack for the live-action The Lion King.

The video for Beyoncé’s single, which was inspired by the film, debuted Tuesday on the ABC special The Lion King: Can You Feel the Love Tonight with Robin Roberts, where the singer spoke about her inspiration behind the video.

“The concept of the video is to show how God is the painter and natural beauty and nature needs no art direction,” she said. “It’s the beauty of color, the beauty of melanin the beauty of tradition.”

The video depicts scenes of sweeping natural landscapes, including wide deserts and picturesque waterfalls, as well as dozens of backup dancers, interspersed with scenes from the new Lion King film.

Beyoncé’s new curated compilation album, The Lion King: The Gift, featuring “Spirit,” is scheduled for release July 19, the same day the film hits theaters.

“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,” Beyoncé told ABC News.

“I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa,” she added, saying that they used “a lot” of drums and “incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America.”

In addition to Beyoncé, who voices Nala, The Lion King also stars Donald Glover, who voices Simba, as well as Florence Kasumba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key, Billy Eichner, James Earl Jones, Eric Andre, Alfre Woodard, and John Oliver.
